REPUBLICANS RALLIED FOR OREGONIANS’ TOP CONCERNS, WHILE DEMOCRATS PURSUED A SPECIAL INTEREST, TONE-DEAF, TAX-AND-SPEND AGENDA

SALEM, ORE. — House Republican Leader Christine Drazan (R-Canby) released the following statement on the end of the 2025 Legislative Session:

“This session, House Republicans fought for Oregonians who are dissatisfied, overburdened, and increasingly frustrated with the direction Oregon is moving in by focusing on the challenges that impact their day-to-day lives: affordability, housing, education, and homelessness.

House Republicans fought to empower communities and families by eliminating heavy-handed regulations that are keeping families from buying a home. We fought to dramatically reform public education by restoring graduation requirements and expanding options for school choice. We fought to restore safe and livable communities by repealing laws that allow homeless people to camp in our parks and on our sidewalks.

House Republicans rallied behind the thousands of Oregonians who said, ‘No more taxes,’ and stood with Senate Republicans to effectively prevent House Bill 2025, the largest tax hike in Oregon history, from moving forward.

This session, as Democrats gave handouts to special interest groups and supported progressive agendas over the wants and needs of Oregonians they were elected to serve, House Republicans fought to make Oregon a more desirable place to live, work, and raise a family in.

We look forward to continuing to fight for Oregonians who dream of owning a home, for education to be focused on the needs of each individual student, and for restoring safety and livability on our streets and in our neighborhoods.”
