Capitalism is bad, tax the whites. Both of those are key parts of Zohran Mamdani’s platform. Do the citizens of New York City REALLY understand what they are getting into? I don’t think they do.
It’s obvious that not only are the Democrats flailing blindly, Mamdani’s win was totally unexpected.
These are scary days for Democrats, as one put it to me recently. Democrats don’t have control of the White House, the House or the Senate. Nor do they have a clear leader or, arguably, a clear message — and their approval ratings are at historical lows.
Yet the stunning performance Tuesday by a 33-year-old democratic socialist in New York’s ranked-choice Democratic primary for mayor underscores why some in the party say they feel hopeful — and suggests a resurgence of the left. State lawmaker Zohran Mamdani, who previously didn’t have a large national profile, is poised to win the competitive Democratic nomination for mayor.
In fact, other than Jerry Nadler and AOC, currently not a single other New York Democrat has stepped up to endorse his run for Mayor. In fact, they are running hard in the opposite direction.
“We are not socialists,” Rep. Laura Gillen, who represents Nassau County’s 4th District, said in an interview Wednesday night on News Nation.
“[Mamdani] ran a campaign based on a bunch of promises — free everything — without any real economic plan to pay for it., other than raising taxes,” she said.
She’s correct, and I’ll get back to that capitalism and taxes bit in just a minute. As noted in the above article, Kirsten Gillibrand won’t endorse him either.
Gillibrand said she called Mamdani to congratulate him after he bested Cuomo in Tuesday’s primary, but raised issues of concern, and did not endorse him as the Democratic nominee.
“I vote in Albany,” the Democratic senator said.
During a WNYC interview on Thursday, Gillibrand said she expressed concerns directly to Mamdani about his statements regarding Israel and pubic safety.
Even more telling, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries haven’t endorsed him either.
Quite frankly, they aren’t endorsing Mamdani right now because even they understand that his stances on everything from his virulent anti-Israel views to rent control to defunding the police to taxes and capitalism would drive New York City right off the cliff.
CNN interviewed Mamdani last night. Erin Burnett couldn’t contain herself and was gushing all over him as if she was a teenager meeting a rock star for the very first time.
Seriously, watch it all and LISTEN to what he does and doesn’t say. You see, he keeps to his mantra of making sure that New York City is going to be affordable for everyone. How he plans to do that? Taxes. LOTS and LOTS of taxes.
You see, capitalism is BAD. Really bad you guys. It doesn’t matter if you are an entrepreneur, a bodega owner, or someone who has made it in fashion/construction/hedge funds/IT etc… that’s bad capitalism no matter how many employees you have. So, in the interest of “fairness,” let’s tax the rich to make NYC more affordable.

The dude has never worked in a business nor run a business in his life. And it shows. Taxation is theft of the worst kind.
Furthermore, we all know that a business needs to make a profit in order to continue to keep people employed. Meeting or exceeding that profit margin also means that eventually employees get raises and even more employees are HIRED.
Who does Zohran plan to levy taxes against in order to gain this socialist utopia for New York City?
Insane. NYC is going to empty fast if this guy gets into office. Nobody left but the poorest, all trying to feed off each other because there’s nobody with money left to squeeze.

For New York City, that platform puts a higher burden of taxes squarely on the white home and business owners. But HEY! It’s all in the name of fairness. Socialism for the WIN!!
That is, until you can’t buy groceries because the city-run grocery stores run out of food, or have to wait for hours for help to arrive because he defunded the police.

Davey boy isn’t making the point he thinks here. He, like the one he’s responding to, believe that A. NYC citizens should just give up and vote Mamdani in. B. If you don’t support Mamdani, you don’t respect democracy. C. Opening your checkbook to go against our chosen candidate is a key reason to tax the rich.
Which is funny given that many VERY RICH people threw over $1 BILLION dollars at Kamala’s campaign, and every Democrat clapped. You know what? Those rich people, whom Mamdani wants to tax, are capitalists to their core.
You know who isn’t falling for Zohran’s smiling socialist bullshit? 50 Cent. A rapper who has worked hard all these years to be a successful businessman, is definitely NOT a fan of Mamdani.

Mamdani, a former rapper himself, wants to increase taxes on New Yorkers, which 50 Cent is not a fan of.

This is Mamdani’s plan. Capitalism is bad and life economically is unfair. How to solve that? Tax the rich and specifically tax white people.
He can claim it’s democrat socialism, but there is nothing democratic about it. The more he smiles and tells you it’s about fairness and affordability, the more he lies.
Quite simply, he wants to tax the rich whites and abolish capitalism. If that happens, he’ll drive New York City right off the cliff.
