Fox News’ chief political analyst Brit Hume took it upon himself to defend colleague Jennifer Griffin after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth blasted her for being “the worst” when it comes to reporting on President Donald J. Trump.
“I want to say a word, if I may, about Jennifer Griffin, who was attacked by the defense secretary today. An attack I think she did not deserve,” Hume said during a live hit. “Her knowledge and experience at the Pentagon is unmatched, and I have had and still have the greatest regard for her. The attack on her was unfair.”

Hegseth went scorched earth on reporters at a Pentagon press briefing on Thursday, accusing them of “cheering against” President Trump while covering Saturday’s strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities after the White House declared that Iran’s nuclear program had been “obliterated.”
“You, and I mean specifically you, the press, you cheer against Trump so hard, it’s in your DNA and in your blood to cheer against Trump, because you want him not to be successful so bad, you have to cheer against the efficacy of these strikes. You have to hope maybe they weren’t effective,” the SecDef said.
When Griffin, who covers the Pentagon for Fox News, cited satellite photos of trucks at one of the sites, Fordow Mountain, before the attack, to question Hegseth about whether the highly enriched uranium at the site was removed and not destroyed by the strikes, the Trump administration official unloaded on his former colleague.
“Of course, we’re watching every single aspect,” he said of the hypothetical question. “But Jennifer, you’ve been about the worst, the one who misrepresents the most intentionally what the president says.”
Defense Secretary Hegseth just ended FOX News Jennifer Griffin’s career:

Hume had few supporters of his stance on social media, as users suggested that trust — or the lack thereof — was really the issue when it comes to Griffin.
Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
Why? She has been using questionable information from a leaked source and continued to press after corrected. Hume is just more of same. Fox is seriously out of line.

thanks Brit, but so many don’t care about your view of her as so many of us don’t trust her and have not paid attention for a long time. She is a firm Never Trumper and she also doesn’t like Pete. She found out today to stay in her lane and not pick fights you are not going to…

Hegseth called out Griffin’s misleading framing—exactly what taxpayers expect from a Defense Secretary who prioritizes accountability over media theatrics. Iran’s nuclear program remains a top-tier threat, and the administration’s decisive action at Fordow Mountain neutralized…

Her hatred of Trump is unmatched. If Fox were smart – they’re not – they would fire her.

Sorry Britt, what was attacked was VERY specific! After she broke the news about the attacks and the ventilation shafts, she immediately shifted to the Uranium and where it was and speculated(filthy journalists do this more and more) that it had been moved.
She then… pic.twitter.com/CmX7LWVGKP
