The White House released a video on X that has quickly gone viral and features U.N. Secretary General Mark Rutte calling President Donald Trump “Daddy” in regard to his language toward Iran and Israel’s violation of a recent cease-fire agreement.
The administration couldn’t resist having a little fun with Rutte’s statement that ““Daddy has to sometimes use strong language” to get the two sides to stop fighting.
Rutte’s comment came after a reporter asked Trump about using an f-bomb to refer to the two conflicting powers.
Iran and Israel “know what the f–k they’re doing,” Trump said on Monday after it appeared that both sides had violated the agreement.
“Daddy’s home”

The viral video showed images of Trump’s visit to the Hague for the NATO summit and was set to Usher’s “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home).”
Rutte later said he wasn’t specifically referring to Trump as “Daddy,” but rather to how some world powers view the U.S.
“In Europe, I hear sometimes countries saying, ‘Hey, Mark, will the US stay with us?’ And I said that sounds a little bit like a small child asking his daddy, ‘Hey, are you still staying with the family?’” Rutte said.
“So in that sense, I used ‘Daddy,’ [it’s] not that I was calling President Trump ‘Daddy.’”
But the video clearly hit on something with the public, given that it has been viewed more than 2.5 million times in just a few days.
Strong action
Somewhat like a strong father, Trump did what no other country including Israel has been willing or able to do when he bombed Iranian nuclear sites after talks with Tehran’s leadership fell apart.
He was criticized by many Democrats for striking Iran without consulting Congress, even though he has the constitutional right to do so.
A small group of Democrats, including former national security officials who worked under Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, praised Trump for his decisive action, however, and said that he did what needed to be done.
Iran’s ability to make a nuclear weapon was said to be just days or weeks away, and the dangers such an acquisition would have brought were great.
