June 26, 2025, Fairfax, Va.—Americans for Limited Government Executive Director Robert Romano today issued the following statement urging Congress to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act in time for President Donald Trump’s July 4 deadline:
“Now is the time for Congress to act to get President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act across the finish line by July 4, making the 2017 Trump tax cuts permanent, eliminating income taxes on tips and overtime, cutting taxes for seniors collecting Social Security, 100 percent factory expensing for factories to build products in America, finishing the border wall and boosting immigration enforcement. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act does all that and more, and the best is yet to come, but first Congress needs to get the reconciliation bill passed, overcoming whatever obstacles are still in the way and negotiating in good faith between both chambers. Nothing agreed upon will ever be perfect, but it will certainly be better than taxes increasing on 80 percent of Americans at the end of the year, the border remaining open when the next Democratic administration comes to town and U.S. businesses unable to compete long-term in the global economy. Most importantly, 77 million Americans elected President Trump and Republican majorities in the House and Senate to keep their promises, and that’s what the One Big Beautiful Bill Act does. Make a promise, keep a promise and the American people will reward you.”
