The anti-Trump engine is sputtering and the tank is nearly empty. Let’s face it: opposing Trump is the only thing holding the Democratic Party together. They’ve got no plan to make America great – just a parade of complaints and insane causes that don’t play well in middle America: pro-trans indoctrination, pro-Palestinian protests, pro-illegal alien policies, and soft-on-crime nonsense. Spoiler alert: that’s not a winning platform.
And with Trump not being on the ballot in upcoming elections, their anti-Trump obsession is headed for a political breakdown. Unfortunately for most of them, they don’t know what else to do. They have no message. At least not a good one.
Yes, for nearly a decade, the Democratic Party has had one central organizing principle: Orange Man Bad. Lie, sue, protest, repeat. But here’s the problem – Donald Trump won’t be on any ballots in 2026 or 2028 (unless of course, his son runs for president). And if Dems thought holding their coalition together was hard before, just wait until they try doing it without their favorite punching bag.
According to a new poll spotlighted by Newsweek, a whopping 47% of Democrats are begging for a third-party option. And can you really blame them? The loudest voices in their party are the far-left fringe, shouting about division, defunding, and delusion.
Meanwhile, the few semi-sane Democrats barely get a camera turned their way – because the media would rather amplify the madness. No wonder voters think the whole party’s off its rocker. When nearly half your own base says a third-party is “necessary,” it’s a pretty clear sign that even the faithful are fed up with the circus.
The LifeZette website backs up those feelings with a headline saying “Top Dem Insider Reveals ‘Really Depressing’ State of the Democratic Party.”
Veteran Democratic strategist Patti Solis Doyle (who served as campaign manager for Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential run) was on the “Next Up with Mark Halperin” podcast recently and talked about the party being without a central figure or unifying vision after Kamala Harris lost the presidential election. She called what is going on with the party “depressing.”
Doyle explained that the de-facto leader of the party is typically the most recent president after a lost election and went on to say, “So right now, for us, that’s Joe Biden. But he has completely – he’s off the radar completely…So right now, we’re leaderless, we’re messageless, we’re agendaless. We don’t have any alternative ideas to the president’s and the Republicans’ right now. So I’m concerned to say the least.”
With the Trump piñata leaving the party during the next election cycle, the Dems will actually have to come up with a plan to govern – or worse, campaign on their previous record. Good luck with that.
