US President Donald Trump announced on Monday evening that Israel and Iran have reached a full ceasefire agreement, effectively ending the recent military conflict he referred to as the ‘12-day war’. The announcement was made via Trump’s Truth Social account and marks a significant development in the Middle East following days of escalating tensions and military action.
According to Trump, both sides have agreed to a comprehensive and complete halt to hostilities. The ceasefire is set to begin at midnight Washington time on Tuesday. It will be implemented in two phases: first, Iran will cease its military activities, followed by Israel ending its operations.

Shortly after Trump’s post, Vice President JD Vance appeared on Fox News’ Special Report and confirmed that the president had held multiple discussions throughout the day with parties involved in the conflict. Vance stated that the US airstrikes against Iranian nuclear facilities had achieved their intended goal of halting Iran’s potential development of nuclear weapons.
He also underscored that, remarkably, the operation was carried out without any American casualties, and that the ceasefire represents a rare diplomatic success in a highly volatile region.
