In a powerful display of support for life and family, pro-life advocates with Students for Life of America (SFLA) will gather on Capitol Hill on June 28 to distribute 392,715 diapers, each one representing a preborn baby lost to Planned Parenthood abortions in the past year.
Billed as “America’s largest diaper giveaway,” the event marks a dual mission: to mourn the lives ended by abortion and to provide tangible aid to families in need.
The diaper drive, part of SFLA’s National Celebrate Life Weekend commemorating the 2022 overturning of Roe v. Wade achieved its ambitious goal of collecting one diaper for each of the 392,715 abortions reported in Planned Parenthood’s 2022-2023 annual report. The diapers, donated by pro-life diaper company EveryLife, will be displayed on Capitol Hill before being distributed to pregnancy resource centers, churches, and families across the local community.
Kristan Hawkins, the president of Students for Life of America and Students for Life Action, told The Christian Post that the display’s purpose is to remind lawmakers about “the price of their continued inaction.”

“We’ll be displaying [the diapers] on Capitol Hill in a powerful way,” the pro-life leader told CP. “We’re also showing the country what the pro-life movement does every day, where the majority of our time and money actually goes, which is toward supporting women and families.”
The event also coincides with a lobbying effort to get Congress to approve the bill to defund Planned Parenthood.
“I think America needs to see this,” the SFLA president said. “America needs to see the pro-life movement and the pro-life generation in action. I think Capitol Hill needs to see this.”
Hawkins will host a series of events that will feature expectant mother Riley Gaines, a courageous voice and advocate for the unique gifts that women bring to both culture and politics.
“Riley Gaines’ courage in the face of those who reject the dignity of Life embodies the spirit of the Pro-Life Generation,” said Hawkins. “Her grace under fire, even while bullied publicly, proves that the culture is shifting toward commonsense and a renewed respect for Life. We’re honored to welcome Gaines as she encourages the Pro-Life Movement during our historic Nation’s Largest Diaper Drive & Rally.”
Gaines and Hawkins will be joined by Abby Johnson, former Planned Parenthood executive and founder of And Then There Were None.
The diaper drive also served as a platform to renew calls for defunding Planned Parenthood, which receives over $600 million annually in taxpayer funding. A recent poll cited by SFLA found that 70% of Americans support redirecting public funds to pregnancy resource centers instead.
