President Trump faced the biggest international crisis of his presidency.
Americans feared World War 3 breaking out.
And Donald Trump put jaws on the ground with this announcement about war with Iran.
On June 13, Israel began its war with Iran over its nuclear weapons program.
Israel claimed Iran was two weeks away from building a nuclear weapon, and it could no longer wait for diplomacy to resolve this standoff.
On June 21, President Trump ordered B-2 bombers to drop 14 bunker buster bombs on three Iranian nuclear facilities.
President Trump declared the mission was a success and that the operation obliterated and destroyed Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
Within 48 hours, Trump announced on Truth Social that the war was over due to Israel and Iran agreeing to a ceasefire agreement that America helped broker.
“Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, ‘PEACE!’ I knew the time was NOW. The World, and the Middle East, are the real WINNERS! Both Nations will see tremendous LOVE, PEACE, AND PROSPERITY in their futures. They have so much to gain, and yet, so much to lose if they stray from the road of RIGHTEOUSNESS & TRUTH. The future for Israel & Iran is UNLIMITED, & filled with great PROMISE. GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!” Trump posted.
Trump went on to say that the success of the B-2 mission forced both sides to come to the table, as blowing up Iran’s nuclear facilities meant Israel’s goal was achieved and Iran didn’t want to enter a wider war against the United States.
“We couldn’t have made today’s ‘deal’ without the talent and courage of our great B-2 pilots, and all of those associated with that operation. In a certain and very ironic way, that perfect ‘hit,’ late in the evening, brought everyone together, and the deal was made!!!” Trump added.
Trump ordering the bombing represented a massive risk.
Iran could have chosen to retaliate and strike the 40,000 United States troops stationed in the Gulf Region.
That would open the door to extended American bombing campaigns and potentially boots on the ground.
President Trump promised to keep America out of forever wars in the Middle East.
Trump was able to stick to that pledge, and Iran retaliated with a symbolic strike at America’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
Iran informed America ahead of time of the strike so a response could be coordinated.
Qatar shot down 13 of the 14 missiles, and there were no casualties in the attack.
The war is now ending and Americans breathed a sigh of relief that the nation isn’t embroiled in another endless war.
