When Neesha learned she was pregnant with her fifth child, her emotions were overwhelming. As a hardworking mother of four, she was balancing long hours to provide for her family and wasn’t sure how she could meet the needs of another child. The weight of responsibility made her question what her next steps should be.
Initially, she considered abortion, believing it was her only option at the time. But when she called to schedule an appointment, she was informed that abortion was no longer available in Georgia after the detection of a fetal heartbeat. Following the Dobbs Supreme Court decision, Georgia enacted protections for unborn children with detectable heartbeats—usually around six weeks.
This news caused Neesha to pause and reflect. With the encouragement of her church community, Neesha was introduced to Abiding Love, an adoption agency that provides compassionate support for women facing unplanned pregnancies. Through their help, everything changed. The team at Abiding Love walked alongside Neesha every step of the way. They offered practical support like help with rent and car maintenance, and most importantly, they showed up—consistently—with kindness, without judgment, and with unwavering encouragement. Their support became even more essential when Neesha unexpectedly lost her job. But she never felt alone.

As Neesha explored her options, she chose to pursue an open adoption. It was a decision rooted in prayer, reflection, and peace.
“My decision wasn’t something I made overnight,” she recalls. “I had to surrender and allow God to have His way in my life. That was the greatest thing I could’ve ever done.”
Today, her son is thriving. Now two years old, he’s joyful, smart, and full of personality. He already knows his colors, the days of the week, and how to spell his name. He adores music and has his very own drum set. Most of all, he’s deeply loved.
Neesha shares a beautiful open relationship with his adoptive parents—people she describes as attentive, nurturing, and full of love.
“He’s happy. He’s fearless. And he’s so well cared for,” she says with pride. “I’m so thankful that he’s been given opportunities I couldn’t have offered him at that time in my life.”
Looking back, Neesha doesn’t see her journey as a story of loss—but of strength, sacrifice, and love.
“Children are blessings. It’s an honor to be able to carry life,” she says. “As a mother, it’s about doing what’s right for your child—not just what’s easy or convenient. Love means choosing their best future.”
Because of the Dobbs decision, Neesha’s son was given the gift of life—and love from two families who cherish him.
“He may not understand everything right now,” Neesha says, “but he will always know he is special worthy and loved immensely.”
