Donald Trump has vented his fury at Israel and Iran, accusing both of violating a ceasefire he brokered with them last night.
The ceasefire agreement appears in tatters just hours after coming into effect, with the warring arch enemies accusing one another of launching strikes on each other this morning.
Israel has said it is preparing to ‘respond forcefully’ with ‘intense strikes’ on ‘the heart’ of the Iranian capital.
Trump appeared to warn it against targeting Tehran, writing on Truth Social: ‘ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!’
Trump earlier warned the warring sides to not to violate the ceasefire last night, declaring that it marked a new chapter of ‘world peace’.
But hopes that the fighting would be halted were short lived, with Israel saying it had intercepted two ballistic missiles this morning.
In response, Israel’s defence minister Israel Katz said he had instructed the IDF to ‘respond forcefully to Iran’s violation of the ceasefire with intense strikes against regime targets in the heart of Tehran.’
Donald Trump has said that both Israel and Iran have violated the ceasefire deal he proposed.
The US president said he didn’t like that Israel ‘unloaded’ on Iran right after agreeing to a ceasefire.
