Iran reportedly launched a strike against Al Udeid U.S. Air Base in Qatar, Axios and Reuters reported Monday.
Axios reported that Iran has launched missiles at the base, citing an Israeli source. Reuters reported that explosions were heard in Doha, the capital of Qatar, citing a witness.
The reported strike marks Tehran’s first wave of direct military retaliation against the U.S. after President Donald Trump ordered strikes against three Iranian nuclear facilities Saturday night. The U.S. vowed to launch further strikes on Iran if the Islamic Republic attacks any U.S. forces in the region.
U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) declined to comment, while the Pentagon did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.
