An Arkansas man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he was identified as a suspect in the murders of his sister and parents earlier in the day.
The Bryant Police Department said they were called to the scene at about 7:30 a.m. by a man who said he came home from work and found his wife and her parents dead from what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
Three children were found in the home with no physical injuries.
Police officers and Saline County deputies arrested 34-year-old Jarrod Mitchell and charged him with three counts of first degree murder.
Police said they found signs of forced entry at the home, according to Law&Crime.
Court records say that Mitchell has a history of drug arrests and was previuosly committed to a detox center against his will in 2017. Court records at the time said “he threatened his mother, her husband, and his sister. He had knives laid out on the bed and one on his person.”
The petition for Mitchell’s commitment was signed by his grandparents, with whom he was living at the time.
According to KARK, Mitchell was ordered held on a $2 million bond and is due back in court on August 5.
