By Lars Larson,
The Northwest Nonsense
If you ever thought you had a say in the pornographic books public schools put in front of your kids, you’d be wrong.
And after Governor Tina Kotek put her signature on House Bill 1098 this week, you have even less say about it.
Most of the stories on the new law describe it as a “ban on book bans” even though no books have been banned…just not displayed for children.
Responsible librarians know that some books just ain’t appropriate for kids.
One example: “The Haters”, a book now on the shelves in Oregon school libraries.
It’s too raunchy to read on the radio. The FCC would hit me with a big fat fine if I did.
State Representative Dwayne Yunker, standing on the floor of the legislature, read one of the sex scenes out loud, in front of adults, to explain why he voted no on the new law. HIs fellow lawmakers declared it “lascivious and obscene”, silenced him and now he’s under investigation.
Democrats passed the bill that bans your local school district from removing such trash from school libraries.
Kotek signed it into law.
If parents thought they had ANY say in such things, we’ve been set straight.
Message from democrats…ignore the sexualization of your kids, pay your school taxes to fund the teachers unions that fund our campaigns…and shut the hell up.
