The United States’ military struck three military sites in Iran, President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social Saturday, June 21. Trump said the attack was on Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan.
“All planes are now outside of Iran air space,” Trump said. “A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow.”
All planes are now on their way home, Trump said, adding that “there is not another military in the World that could have done this.”
“NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter,” he wrote.
This follows a week of missile strikes between Iran and Israel. Bipartisan lawmakers have been urging the president to keep the U.S. out of the conflict, and Trump initially said would make a decision about getting involved within the next two weeks.
Trump previously maintained that would not authorize a strike unless absolutely necessary, as he promised during the 2024 election not to bring the U.S. into any new wars.
