The Swamp is working overtime to sabotage Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
But one fearless state official refuses to cave to the pressure.
And Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier just delivered this brutal message that left one Obama judge fuming.
Florida strikes back against illegal alien crime spree
The battle lines are drawn in Florida as the state leads the charge in supporting President Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda.
Recent arrests across the Sunshine State prove that tough enforcement works when officials have the backbone to stand up for the rule of law.
Bay County authorities just wrapped up a major bust that exposed a shocking web of corruption at the heart of Florida’s driver licensing system.
Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that eight individuals now face serious charges for their roles in a massive fraud operation targeting the state’s DMV offices.
The scheme involved two rogue Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles workers who turned their government positions into cash cows by selling bogus licenses to people who had no business driving on American roads.
Investigators discovered that Bancelie Velazco and Demetrius Smith II had transformed their Panama City DMV office into a criminal enterprise.
The pair was caught red-handed helping applicants bypass mandatory testing requirements while pocketing thousands of dollars in bribes.
Bay County Sheriff Tommy Ford revealed that the corruption was so brazen that one employee conducted 295 road exams in a single month when the normal average runs between 20 to 25.
Surveillance footage captured the fraud in action as unqualified individuals skipped the very tests designed to keep dangerous drivers off the road.
The criminal network stretched far beyond just two corrupt employees.
Six additional suspects were arrested for their roles as middlemen in the scheme: Niurbis Rosales, Leonardo Gutierrez, Hung Du, Isbrieta Parra, Zoila Gonzalez-Pena, and Mirna Fernandez.
These intermediaries used cash payments and mobile apps to funnel money to the crooked DMV workers while advertising their services to people across Florida.
Authorities seized $120,000 in cash from the homes of the arrested employees during the investigation.
The corruption even involved a business called CubaMax that specialized in processing immigration documents and served as a referral source for the fraudulent license scheme.
Deadly consequences of open borders policies
The human cost of failed immigration enforcement became tragically clear in Osceola County when a young woman lost her life to a preventable crime.
A 40-year-old Kissimmee woman was killed while jogging in her own neighborhood by an illegal alien who fled the scene rather than face responsibility for his actions.
Jairo Leonardo Pena-Espana, a 21-year-old from Honduras, struck the victim with his Ford F250 pickup truck at 6:22 a.m. as she crossed Florida Parkway in a designated crosswalk.
The woman was doing everything right – exercising in her community and following traffic safety rules – when Pena-Espana’s reckless driving ended her life.
Instead of stopping to help or call for emergency services, Pena-Espana chose to speed away from the scene.
The victim was taken to the hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Florida Highway Patrol investigators used witness statements, photographs, and video evidence to track down Pena-Espana’s vehicle.
When officers located him just one day later, they found clear evidence linking his truck to the fatal collision.
Pena-Espana admitted to investigators that his windows were foggy and that he “felt something” during the crash but made the conscious decision not to stop.
The illegal alien was driving without a valid license and now faces charges for leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving without a license resulting in death.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Pena-Espana, but a judge still granted him a mere $6,000 bond for taking an innocent life and fleeing the scene.
Obama judge wages war against immigration enforcement
The most outrageous attack on Florida’s immigration enforcement efforts comes from the federal courthouse where an Obama-appointed judge is actively trying to sabotage the state’s cooperation with President Trump’s deportation agenda.
U.S. District Judge Kathleen M. Williams has been waging a personal vendetta against Attorney General Uthmeier for refusing to bow to her demands that Florida stop enforcing its own immigration laws.
Judge Williams issued a restraining order attempting to block enforcement of SB 4-C, Florida’s immigration law that makes it a crime for illegal aliens to enter the state.
But Uthmeier wasn’t about to let an activist judge dictate how Florida protects its citizens.
When Williams demanded that Uthmeier instruct law enforcement agencies to ignore Florida law, the Attorney General delivered a response that sent shockwaves through the legal establishment.
In a defiant letter to police agencies, Uthmeier made it clear that he would not prevent them from doing their jobs.
The Obama judge exploded in anger and held Uthmeier in civil contempt of court on Tuesday.
Williams ordered the Attorney General to file biweekly reports tracking any immigration enforcement activities in the state.
But Uthmeier’s response to the contempt ruling shows exactly why Florida voters chose him to defend their interests.
“If being held in contempt is what it costs to defend the rule of law and stand firmly behind President Trump’s agenda on illegal immigration, so be it,” Uthmeier declared on social media.

During earlier interviews defending his position, Uthmeier explained why he refuses to surrender to judicial overreach.
“Here’s the thing. There’s not a single law enforcement agency as a party in front of the court in this case,” the Attorney General stated. “And as a lawyer, the first day of law school, they tell you about separation of powers. They tell you that a judge can’t order people around who are not under the jurisdiction of the court. So I’m not going to do that.”
Uthmeier made it crystal clear where his loyalties lie.
“I’m not going to bow down and withhold my oath,” he declared. “I gave an oath to the Constitution and that’s where my loyalty lies.”
The Attorney General pointed out the glaring flaw in the judge’s approach to the case.
“She wants the law enforcement officers to stop committing arrests. And the problem is the ACLU didn’t sue any law enforcement officers,” Uthmeier explained.
His logic is unassailable: “So if they want to arrest people under the law, if they want to hand them over to ICE, if they want to help the Trump administration carry out detentions and deportations, they have the legal authority to do that, and I’m not going to stand in their way.”
This principled stand represents everything that’s right about Florida’s approach to immigration enforcement.
While Washington, D.C. swamp creatures try to undermine President Trump at every turn, state officials like Uthmeier are proving that backbone and constitutional principles still matter.
The Obama judge’s tantrum only proves that the Deep State knows Florida’s enforcement efforts are working.
When corrupt DMV employees try to sell licenses to unqualified drivers, Florida investigators bust them and seize their ill-gotten gains.
When illegal aliens commit deadly crimes and flee the scene, Florida law enforcement tracks them down and ensures ICE gets involved.
And when activist judges try to tie the hands of law enforcement, Florida’s Attorney General tells them exactly where they can stick their unconstitutional orders.
Attorney General Uthmeier’s refusal to cave to federal judicial pressure sends a clear message to every law enforcement officer in Florida: do your job, enforce the law, and protect your communities.
The results speak for themselves as Florida continues to lead the nation in supporting President Trump’s immigration agenda while keeping dangerous criminals off the streets.
