$2B gas tax bill moves. Call your lawmaker now!!!

The 2 billion-a-year in new taxes bill, HB 2025, was just voted out of Committee and will be heading to the House floor for a vote.

Here is what is in the tax:

• Gas tax increase +37%.
• Gas tax indexed to inflation forever
• The transit payroll tax increase from .1% to .3%
• Car registration increase
• DMV drivers test $45 to $111
• DMV License plate $12 to $33
• Transfer tax on new cars. 2%.
• Creates new tax on used cars at 1%
• Vehicle privilege tax +200%:
• Road use charge for Electric Vehicles
• Road Use charge for delivery vehicles

#2. Know in advance who your Representative is. If you don’t know, type your address into this link.
#3. Ask to speak to your State Representative
#4. The Capitol Switchboard will transfer your call to the lawmaker’s office.
#5. Tell your State Representative to oppose HB 2025.
#6. Tell them that politicians should not be involved in writing ballot measure language and that politicians should sue the same process that ordinary voters use (which include the Attorney General and several appeal processes).
