President Donald Trump went on a late-night rant on his Truth Social platform after scoring a “Big Win” against California Governor Gavin Newsom regarding the deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles.
Knewz.com has learned that Trump’s scathing remarks came after a California appeals court ruled that the President can continue to control the state’s National Guard.

A three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which included Trump appointees Mark Bennett and Eric Miller, as well as Joe Biden appointee Jennifer Sung, ruled in the President’s favor that he lawfully took control of California’s National Guard.
While the ruling is not permanent, it extends the pause on United States District Judge Charles Breyer’s ruling that stated that the deployment of the National Guard was illegal and violated the Tenth Amendment and exceeded the President’s statutory authority.
“We emphasize, however, that our decision addresses only the facts before us… And although we hold that the President likely has authority to federalize the National Guard, nothing in our decision addresses the nature of the activities in which the federalized National Guard may engage,” the three-judge panel ruled on Thursday, June 19.

President Trump celebrated the ruling on his Truth Social platform, calling Governor Newsom “incompetent” once again.
“BIG WIN in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals on the President’s core power to call in the National Guard! The Judges obviously realized that Gavin Newscum is incompetent and ill prepared, but this is much bigger than Gavin, because all over the United States, if our Cities, and our people, need protection, we are the ones to give it to them should State and Local Police be unable, for whatever reason, to get the job done,” Trump wrote.
“This is a Great Decision for our Country, and we will continue to protect and defend Law abiding Americans. Congratulations to the Ninth Circuit, America is proud of you tonight!” he added.

Trump had deployed the National Guard troops in Los Angeles to deal with the protests and unrest sparked by large-scale immigration enforcement actions, where Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents reportedly arrested at least 44 undocumented individuals.
The raids triggered widespread protests throughout the city, with demonstrators blocking highways, setting vehicles ablaze, and clashing with federal agents. According to reports, protesters targeted self-driving Waymo cars in several instances, setting them on fire.
In an official letter addressed to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on the afternoon of June 9, Governor Newsom requested to have the National Guard removed from Los Angeles and returned to his command.
California Attorney General Rob Bonta announced last week that the state of California had filed a lawsuit challenging the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles.

Initially, Judge Breyer had ruled in Governor Newsom’s favor, ordering Trump to relinquish control of California’s National Guard troops to Governor Newsom, ruling that the civil unrest accompanying the immigration protests fell “far short of ‘rebellion.”
“While Defendants have pointed to several instances of violence, they have not identified a violent, armed, organized, open and avowed uprising against the government as a whole… The definition of rebellion is unmet,” the federal judge wrote in the 36-page opinion.
However, hours later, the three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals blocked Judge Breyer’s order.
