Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) just dropped a bombshell allegation against one of the major food processing enterprises in the country.
Hawley has accused Tyson Foods of employing illegal immigrants as well as using child labor.
These are rather severe charges, sending a shockwave through Congress.

Tyson Foods has been in the headlines for plant closures, but Hawley says there is far more to the picture than just that.
He is now demanding that Andrew Rogers — President Donald Trump’s nominee to lead the Labor Department’s Wage and Hour Division — dig deeper into the company’s work practices if he is confirmed.
Hawley posted to X, “Tyson Foods closed plants in Missouri, canceled contracts with Missouri farmers, and fired Missouri workers — all while using illegal child labor & illegal immigrants Trump’s Labor nom just committed to investigate child labor wherever it exists. Let’s start with Tyson Foods.”
Last month, Hawley broke the seal on this, writing a letter to Labor Department Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer.
His letter, in part, stated, “I have opened an investigation in my Subcommittee. Given your role in enforcing federal labor law, I urge you to fully investigate these troubling allegations immediately.”
Hawley’s allegations are not coming from thin air, as a whistleblower came forward to make the allegations against the chicken giant.
The child workers were allegedly employed by a contracting company that supplies workers for Tyson.
After coming forward with the allegations, the whistleblower stated they had been retaliated against by the company with a “toxic work environment.”
In this day and age, it is hard to believe that a company of this magnitude could hide child labor practices, but it surely would not surprise me considering the industry in question.
It was rather eye-opening reading earlier reports about the staggering number of illegal immigrants allegedly working at these plants.
Tyson has been shutting down plants all over the country, laying off more than 4,200 employees in 2023 alone.
The company has closed plants in Arkansas, Missouri, and Indiana.
ICE and DHS had been conducting raids on farming and hospitality operations, but Trump hinted at backing off these raids after his Secretary of Agriculture pushed back on how devastating it would be to the farming industry.
Trump hinted that he may make some exceptions for these workplaces, but I am not sure how that will sit with MAGA, and that is what will ultimately dictate Trump’s response, as he simply cannot afford to alienate his base.
