REP. DRAZAN APPLAUDS PASSAGE OF BILL THAT WOULD GENERATE $800 MILLION FOR MAJOR LEAGUE BALLPARK
By Oregon State Representative Christine Drazan,
SALEM, Ore. – Representative Christine Drazan (R-Canby) released the following statement in response to the Legislature passing SB 110A, which would generate $800 million towards a $2 billion MLB ballpark in Portland using income taxes from players’ salaries to repay bonds.
“Bringing Major League baseball to Oregon would create an economic boom our state is desperately in need of,” said Rep. Drazan. “As Oregon’s anti-business climate continues to drive away valuable companies, an MLB stadium would create an opportunity to boost statewide revenue, and also hold Portland leaders accountable for improving safety and quality of life.”
