Assassination suspect Vance Boelter wrote a letter in which he blamed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for the murderous rampage Boelter committed, according to sources.
Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the investigation have confirmed to Alpha News that Boelter’s so-called confession letter was intended for Kash Patel, the director of the FBI.
The handwritten letter was discovered by law enforcement inside the Buick that Boelter purchased just hours after he shot Minnesota Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, and then shot and killed Minnesota legislator and Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark.
After an extensive manhunt—the largest in Minnesota state history—Boelter was arrested not far from his home in Green Isle, Minn.
Boelter has been charged with killing Hortman and her husband Mark, and with shooting Hoffman and his wife, who are both recovering.
The charging documents indicate that a handwritten note from “Dr. Vance Luther Boelter” was found and that Boelter confirmed that he was the “shooter at large in Minnesota involved in the 2 shootings.”
The charges also indicate that Boelter bought the Buick and an e-bike for $900, from a man he didn’t know, at a bus stop in north Minneapolis.
That man drove Boelter to a U.S. Bank where Boelter emptied $2,200 from his account. A surveillance camera at that location recorded Boelter wearing a cowboy hat. An image from that video was released by the FBI as the manhunt to find Boelter was underway.
Security camera video from Boelter’s neighbor in north Minneapolis, where Boelter rented a room, also shows him wearing a cowboy hat.
Boelter rented a room in north Minneapolis but also had a home in Green Isle. Several sources have confirmed that Boelter apparently made the one-hour trip—from north Minneapolis to Green Isle—to retrieve a large sum of money that was hidden somewhere in his residence. However, Boelter never made it back inside and law enforcement had already recovered the money.
Walz was not named on a typed copy of Boelter’s “hit list” obtained by Alpha News that was compiled and shared among law enforcement officials soon after Boelter allegedly committed the shootings.
Governor Walz—who recently referred to ICE agents as President Donald Trump’s “Gestapo” and urged Democrats to “bully the s–t out of” Trump—has acknowledged the need for a more civil discourse this week.
