Two people were stabbed Wednesday morning on a crowded NYC subway train as it was pulling into Grand Central Terminal, the NYPD said – and FOX 5 NY has obtained cellphone video of the attack unfolding.
What we know:
The stabbing happened during the morning rush hour just before 7:30 a.m. on the Lexington line as the southbound 5 train was pulling into the station.
According to police, a 28-year-old man and a 32-year-old man were stabbed by an unknown individual. Both were taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition. Police sources say the incident began as a verbal dispute between the suspect and the 32-year-old before escalating.
Exclusive video
Cellphone video obtained by FOX 5 NY shows at least two men involved in the incident. One, standing on the floor, appears to stab a second man who leaps up on the bench seats of the train as the apparent assailant allegedly jabs at him multiple times around the midsection of his body. It all happened while riders pushed to the ends of the car.
