Two people were taken to the hospital after an aircraft crashed at New Century Airport in Johnson County, Kansas, on Monday afternoon.
The incident was reported just before 1:30 p.m. The sheriff’s office said a light twin-engine plane with two people onboard crash-landed on the roof of a hangar.
The sheriff’s office said the two people onboard sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to an area hospital.
“The good news is the two people that occupied the aircraft sustained minor injuries and were able to exit the aircraft of their own power and down the fire ladder to some paramedics,” said Bryan Johnson, executive director of the Johnson County Airport Commission.
The sheriff’s office, Kansas Highway Patrol, Fire District #1 and MED-ACT were at the scene.
