Leading pro-life groups are praising the Senate’s version of the One Big Beautiful bill, which also contains language to defund Planned Parenthood.
Top pro-life organizations praised the Senate Finance Committee’s draft legislative package that would prevent taxpayer dollars from supporting the abortion industry.
“We praise Majority Leader John Thune and Finance Committee Chair Sen. Mike Crapo for their leadership,” said Carol Tobias, president of National Right to Life. “The One, Big Beautiful Bill brings us closer to disentangling federal tax dollars from subsidizing the abortion industry.”
Tobias continued, “American citizens should not be forced into funding abortions.”

The Senate Finance Committee’s draft legislative package keeps the language that is in the House version of the bill and prevents entities that perform or promote abortion from benefiting from federal tax dollars.
“Taxpayer dollars should not be used to support organizations like Planned Parenthood that profit from ending lives,” Tobias continued. “We commend members of the Senate Finance Committee for their work to uphold the will of the American people.”
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America also celebrated the news.
“It is time to stop forcing taxpayers to fund the Big Abortion industry, led by Planned Parenthood,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America. “We are thankful to the Senate Finance Committee for including this major priority in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
“It’s indefensible that America’s largest abortion business, Planned Parenthood, siphons over $2 million a day from taxpayers while delivering substandard care — from moldy equipment and leaking sewage to botched abortions and the trafficking of baby body parts. Women have even died after abortions at this abortion giant. This scandal-plagued organization prioritizes abortion, gender transitions and partisan politics, while its services for low-income women, like prenatal care and STI testing, continue to decline.
“Women have real choices for their health care, with community health centers far more accessible and offering much more comprehensive care than abortion businesses. We thank Majority Leader John Thune and Finance Committee Chair Sen. Mike Crapo for their leadership and encourage both chambers to get the One Big Beautiful Bill Act across the finish line.”
Reconciliation bills in 2015 and 2017 included a provision to stop funneling American tax dollars to Big Abortion. This year, Congress can finally stop funding for Big Abortion – an industry that harms women and girls, destroys unborn babies’ lives and is a terrible investment for taxpayers.
