You’d think that in the progressive pursuit to dismantle law and order, the left could at least agree to lock people up after, say, 17 arrests. But that’s not the case, especially in the Big Apple. And unfortunately, innocent people continue to pay the price because the left refuses to fulfill its most basic duty: upholding public safety.
A man who had been arrested at least 18 times, with several charges still pending, has finally proven he cannot be trusted in public. And while I could have told you that after his second or third arrest, the left somehow still seems to believe otherwise. As a result, two police officers were stabbed.
None of this is surprising when you consider the ongoing “progressive prosecutor movement” taking place across the country.
According to the New York Post:
The crazed suspect, identified as Jonathan Wohl, 37, of Queens, is seen calmly approaching the metal detectors in Manhattan Criminal court around 9:30 a.m. – but then suddenly pounces on a court officer, video obtained by The Post shows.
The maniac then turns and brutally attacks the second officer, stabbing him repeatedly before he gets tackled into a barrier near the entrance of the courthouse.
Fortunately, the officers are expected to make a full recovery.
“The assaults, captured on surveillance video, appeared preliminarily to be a targeted attack of the uniformed officers working security details at the courthouse,” a spokesman for the state Office of Court Administration said in a statement. “Several court officers immediately rushed to stop the assailant, subduing him near a bank of magnetometers, disarming him and taking him into custody.”
Wohl has 18 prior arrests, with three open criminal cases and has been a nuisance at the courthouse, “always harassing the court officers,” the sources said.
You’d think that after oh, I don’t know—the tenth time, these people would realize this man is a clear threat to public safety. You might even call this incident surprising, except it’s anything but.
What did prosecutors think this man was going to do after his 18th arrest? Did they really believe he’d learn his lesson? That’s a question they refuse to answer—but it hasn’t stopped them from upholding lawlessness at the expense of law and order. And to call that a slap in the face to public safety would be an understatement.
