WEST MIAMI-DADE, FL – Authorities are piecing together the events of a tragic incident that unfolded at a bank in West Miami-Dade, leaving one person dead and another injured. The scene remains active as detectives work to understand the circumstances surrounding the attack.
The Miami-Dade Police Department reported that the incident involved three individuals, two of whom were transported to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, one of the victims succumbed to their injuries, while the other is in stable condition. The third individual, a suspect, has been taken into custody.
The altercation occurred at approximately 10:35 a.m. at a TD Bank located on Burt Road and 112th Avenue. According to police, a man wielding a knife launched an attack on two others. One of the victims managed to board a passing Miami-Dade County bus despite bleeding from stab wounds. The bus driver promptly alerted central control, leading to a swift response from authorities.
The bus was stopped east of Burt Road on Southwest 107th Avenue, where police taped off the area and emergency personnel transported the injured man to a hospital. A woman, who witnessed the commotion and chose to remain anonymous, expressed her fear upon seeing the bus surrounded by police units.
Unverified sources indicated that at least two of the men involved were homeless, and the dispute that escalated into violence was allegedly over a bicycle. These details have not been confirmed by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, which is continuing its investigation.
The suspect, now in police custody, is expected to be questioned by investigators to shed light on the events leading to the attack. As the investigation progresses, detectives remain on the scene, gathering evidence and speaking to potential witnesses.
Authorities have not released the identities of those involved, and they are appealing to the public for any information that might aid in the investigation. Anyone with relevant details is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers.
