The Federal Bureau of Information is offering a $50,000 award for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in a shooting in Minnesota.
Two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses were shot in two separate but related incidents early Saturday morning. State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, were fatally shot in one shooting, and Sen. John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were shot in another incident. Hoffman and his wife are expected to recover.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz described the shooting as a “politically motivated assassination,” and police later identified Vance Luther Boelter as a suspect in the shootings. Police say Boelter was impersonating a police officer when he carried out the attacks at the victims’ residences.
