Sibley County, located about 50 miles southwest of the Twin Cities, sent a localized emergency alert to residents after the Minnesota shooting suspect’s vehicle was found in the area, an official with the Sibley County Sheriff’s Office told CNN.
“Keep your doors locked and vehicles secured,” the alert reads. “Law enforcement will be going to area residences to ask to search properties.”
The sheriff’s office is asking residents to stay vigilant as officers search the area. There is no shelter-in-place order at this time, the official said.
