It appears that ICE protesters in Florida know better than to block roads after Governor Ron DeSantis reminded his people they have rights.
Protests in Florida are a lot more polite than in other parts of the country, due in part to participants not blocking the roadways. This tactic has been largely used in leftist protests and has enraged drivers who are just trying to get to their destinations, sparking debate on what people can do to prevent being blocked from traveling.
As you will notice, a protest in Tampa, Florida did not have this problem:
WATCH: Protesters in Tampa walk out in the middle of the street during red light and flee on green light

Protesters used timed crosswalk crossings to convey their anti-ICE message before clearing out of the roadway for the coming green light. Is it because the leftists in Florida are just more polite?
Not quite:
Florida doesn’t have an issue with protesters blocking roads.
Why you ask?
Because it’s illegal, and you have the right to run over protestors if they block the roads.
This problem could go away overnight if every state had the courage of Ron DeSantis.pic.twitter.com/6XQKLxpzMT

DeSantis issued a reminder that drivers don’t have to be held hostage by the whims of protestors.
“And we also have a policy that if you’re driving on one of those streets and a mob comes and surrounds your vehicle and threatens you, you have a right to flee for your safety,” the governor said. “And so if you drive off and you hit one of these people, that’s their fault for impinging on you. You don’t have to sit there and just be a sitting duck and let the mob grab you out of your car and drag you through the streets. You have a right to defend yourself in Florida.”
This message went over big on social media:

Even if they didn’t have that right, I wouldn’t trust ANY Florida drivers, particularly in the Miami to Boca stretch. The Worst.

Just got back from moving a family member down there, loved the atmosphere, and no FL doesn’t screw around, specifically, its LEOs have a very strong dutiful intent…one feels safe there.

In Minnesota, Walz would have you dragged from your car and beaten to death rather than defend yourself.

Ya know we got enough federal laws on the books that you could probably make this happen at the federal level in some way
