In the early hours of June 14, two lawmakers and their spouses were shot in what appears to be a targeted spree. Two are dead, two in the hospital and breaking news demonstrates ties to immigration and “No Kings”
Melissa Hortman (DFL) and her husband Mark Hortman were fatally shot and, in a separate incident, John Hoffman (DFL) and his wife Yvette were shot but have survived after undergoing surgery. The suspect is still at large.
The suspect wore black body armor, a badge, a Taser and appeared indistinguishable from real law enforcement, police said. He also drove a police-style SUV with flashing lights. (snip)
Law enforcement responded to a shooting at Hoffman’s home in Champlin at 2 a.m. where he and his wife had been shot multiple times.
Officers then conducted a welfare check at Speaker Hortman’s residence in Brooklyn Park at around 3:35 a.m. and saw what looked like a police officer and a squad car outside. When they confronted the suspect coming out of the home, the suspect opened fire on them and police returned fire before the suspect fled back into the house and then fled.
Police said there was a manifesto in the vehicle that identified many lawmakers and other officials. Police have since alerted them.
Authorities also found several “No Kings” fliers in the vehicle.
At first glance, the targeting of MN Democrats by someone able to pass as an LEO might have some point fingers to a rightwing assassin. However, as the day wears on, further information makes the issue much more complicated.
Suspect in the Minnesota attack is reportedly Vance Luther Boelter.
He was appointed to the Governor’s Workforce Development Board in 2019 by Gov. Tim Walz.
Boelter had ‘NO KINGS’ flyers in his car.

Tampon Tim has certainly contributed to an atmosphere where violence against people in authority has become more acceptable, if not celebrated. And he was scheduled to speak at a No Kings rally today (since canceled). Vance Boelter, through the organization he heads, may have had access to the equipment that allowed him to impersonate law enforcement.

SCOOP: Vance Luther Boelter, the alleged suspect in the shooting of two Minnesota Democratic state lawmakers and their spouses, was CEO of a U.S. government subsidized private protection agency known as Red Lions Group.
Red Lions Group received over $20,000 in small business loans under the SBA program.
Boelter is listed as the CEO of Red Lions Group, which was active in the Democratic Republic of Congo. He is highlighted on the Minnesota African Union website.
The Minnesota African Union website states that it is “a statewide umbrella organization that is focused on the wellbeing of the immigrant community.”
Former Minnesota state house leader Melissa Hortman, a Democrat, was shot and k*lled in a “politically motivated” shooting that took place after she was the lone Democratic House lawmaker to vote against illegal aliens receiving healthcare funding.
Boelter was reportedly appointed as a member of the Governor’s Workforce Development Council by former Minnesota governor Mark Dayton, a Democratic-Farmer-Labor Union member.
“No Kings” rally flyers were found in his car, according to reports by the Minnesota State Patrol.
Boelter has ties to the “immigrant community” and Melissa Hortman voted against giving taxpayer-funded healthcare to illegal aliens. And it appears she was pretty jittery about her vote …
HOLY CRAP! Rep. Melissa Hortman sounded absolutely TERRIFIED while speaking to the media after she voted NO on healthcare for illegals
She was just ass*ssinated this morning.
She knew she’d end up as a target in one form or another.

President Trump was quick to respond this morning:
Statement from President Donald J. Trump
I have been briefed on the terrible shooting that took place in Minnesota, which appears to be a targeted attack against State Lawmakers. Our Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and the FBI, are investigating the situation, and they will be…

Today marks the 8-year anniversary of the targeted shooting of the GOP baseball team that almost took the life of Congressman Steve Scalise. An incident of political violence that Obama’s FBI tried to handwave away by calling it ‘suicide by cop’. Since then, there have been assassination attempts and targeted intimidation against conservatives that get little more than a day or so of coverage and then shrugged off. Encouragement of violence towards the right, even from elected Democrats, has continued to ramp up.
Will the leftwing lawmakers now temper their fascist/Nazi/dictator “Save DEMOCRACY!!” rhetoric?
We’ll get a good indication tonight in response to the D.C. military parade.
