President Donald Trump appears to have opened the door to a possible reconciliation with Elon Musk.
The president did so during a recent interview with the New York Post.
The bigger question, of course, is whether Trump and Musk will walk through that door, or whether they already have.

Hostilities unfold
Trump and Musk recently had a falling out that began when Musk repeatedly criticized the president’s “big, beautiful” bill. At that stage, Trump was not really engaging. Then, however, things got personal.
The president accused Musk of opposing the bill for personal reasons, namely, because it cuts incentives for electric vehicles. He said:
I’m very disappointed, because Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than almost anybody sitting here, better than you people. He knew everything about it. He had no problem with it. All of a sudden he had a problem, and he only developed the problem when he found out that we’re going to have to cut the EV mandate, because that’s billions and billions of dollars, and it really is unfair.
After this, things really began to escalate with Musk suggesting that Trump was implicated in the Jeffrey Epstein files. Things then when a bit quiet for some time.
Then, Musk, after receiving serious criticism for linking Trump to Epstein, took back his accusations. And, Musk has even released a seemingly conciliatory message, writing, “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far.”
Now, it appears that the two could be ready to mend fences.
The latest from Trump
During a podcast chat, Trump provided his latest take on the situation with Musk.
When asked whether he could forgive Musk, Trump said, “I guess I could.”
He added:
I have no hard feelings. But I was really surprised that that happened. He went after a bill that’s phenomenal, it’s the best thing we’ve ever signed in this country. And when he did that I was not a happy camper. So, it’s too bad.
After the discussion, Trump also commented on Musk’s “regrets,” saying, “I thought it was very nice that he did that.”
It remains unclear, however, whether or not Trump is ready to fully come to friendly terms with Musk. Reports indicate that Trump and Musk actually spoke to each other before the tech billionaire posted his “regrets” message.
