As Los Angeles entered its fifth day of violent riots following ICE raids, Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi shockingly downplayed the destruction, suggesting rioters burning cars and attacking law enforcement might simply be caught up in the “exuberance of the moment.” Meanwhile, President Donald Trump took decisive action, deploying 700 Marines to support National Guard troops struggling to restore order—a stark contrast to Pelosi’s weak-kneed response.

Pelosi’s tone-deaf remarks came during a press conference where she attempted to shift blame away from the anarchists terrorizing LA. “There is a gathering, a large gathering of people. The anarchists see it as an opportunity and they move in,” Pelosi claimed, adding, “So [you] always have to be careful, whether you see a burned car, a broken window, whatever it is. It may be the exuberance of the moment, but it may be the anarchist setting in.”

This absurd justification for lawlessness stands in sharp contrast to the reality on the ground. Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell reported that rioters were firing “commercial-grade fireworks at our officers that can kill you.” Meanwhile, the FBI identified one suspect, Elpido Reyna, who was caught on video hurling rocks at ICE agents’ vehicles—an act of blatant violence that Pelosi dismissively lumped in with “exuberance.”

Rather than condemning the rioters, Pelosi pivoted to attacking President Trump over the January 6, 2021, Capitol protest—a tired and dishonest comparison. “On January 6th, with violence against the Constitution, against the Congress and against the United States Capitol, we begged the president of the United States to send in the National Guard. He would not do it,” she falsely claimed. Yet, it was Trump who authorized National Guard support in LA within days, while Democrats like Pelosi and Maxine Waters have spent years excusing left-wing riots as “peaceful protests.”

The liberal media, predictably, has amplified Pelosi’s narrative while ignoring the real victims of these riots—law enforcement, business owners, and citizens trapped in the chaos. Instead of holding rioters accountable, they parrot Democratic talking points, painting Trump’s strong immigration enforcement as the problem rather than the violent mobs burning cities.

Yet the American people see through the hypocrisy. According to RealClearPolling.com, 51.5% of Americans support Trump’s immigration policies—a clear rebuke of the left’s open-borders agenda. While Pelosi and the media wring their hands over “exuberant” rioters, Trump is taking action to restore safety and sovereignty.
