Today the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing with three blue state Governors. The Governors were Tim Walz of Minnesota, J.B. Pritzker of Illinois and Kathy Hochul of New York and a woman named Skye Perryman, the CEO of Democracy Forward. Miss Perryman specializes in reproductive rights, but today she was commenting on the treatment of illegal aliens in the United States. If you expected a well-run hearing under Republican leadership, perish that thought. I watched two plus hours of this utter nonsense and it was more disappointing than usual. The hearing was tragically bad.
As you are all aware, according to the panel and the Democrats on the Committee, President Donald Trump is the fount of all evil in the world today. Beelzebub isn’t half as evil and wicked as Donald Trump. Nor does Beelzebub hate immigrants and people of color as much as Trump does.
According to the three Democrat Governors’ opening statements, they comply in every way with Federal Laws and I.C.E. agents. The Republicans had mid-level success in pointing out their lies. Take Tim Walz who has on several occasions compared I.C.E. agents to the Gestapo. From The Blaze:
During a Thursday hearing, former Democratic vice presidential candidate Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) was brutally grilled by Republican lawmakers for his past comments likening Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to the “Nazi Gestapo.”
Walz appeared alongside Democratic Govs. JB Pritzker of Illinois and Kathy Hochul of New York to testify on sanctuary cities before the House Oversight Committee. During the hearing, Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) confronted Walz for comments he made during a commencement ceremony in May where he said, “Donald Trump’s modern-day Gestapo is scooping folks up off the street.”
The insinuation Walz made is that federal law enforcement agencies under the direction of President Donald Trump are like the Nazi secret police deployed by Adolf Hitler.
“When you said the words ‘modern-day Gestapo,’ you were referring to ICE agents,” Emmer said. “Gestapo, by the way, sir, was the official secret police of Hitler’s Nazi Germany. So you’re calling ICE agents modern-day Nazis.”
Byron Donalds jumped on Walz for that too.
Failed Governor and VP candidate, Tampon Tim Walz doubles down on comparing ICE agents to Gestapo. @ByronDonalds “Governor, you’re WRONG. You need to apologize to these agents… Do not diminish their work simply because you tried to make a cheap point that you could tweet.” pic.twitter.com/Y6FgSArA2W

Oh, flame on, Future Governor Donalds.
Then there was another Future Governor Elize Stefanik beat Kathy Hochul like a rented mule. By the way, Kathy, acting condescending while a Congresswoman lists illegal alien crimes in your sanctuary state.
The worst was Hochul claiming that Stefanik was going a viral moment. Everything Stefanik said was true.
J.B. Pritzker, like most on the Left, has trouble distinguishing between legal and illegal immigrants, especially in his own immigrant family story. From CBS Chicago:
Pritzker defended Illinos’ sanctuary laws, saying, “Illinois follows the law, but we expect the federal govt to follow the law as well.”
“Safe and compassionate immigration policies, I believe, are vital. In fact, my own family owes everything to this country accepting a young refugee named Nicholas Pritzker to its shores over a century ago,” he said. “As I have consistently said, violent criminals have no place on our streets, and if they are undocumented, I want them out of Illinois and out of our country.”
Pritzker and the other governors repeatedly said that it is up to the federal government to enforce immigration laws, not state or local law enforcement agencies.
They also repeatedly criticized the Trump administration for deploying thousands of National Guard troops and hundreds of U.S. Marines in Los Angeles amid ongoing protests against U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement raids in L.A., over the objections of local officials and California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Pritzker said any acts of violence during those protests are unacceptable, but he accused the Trump administration of exacerbating the situation by calling in the military despite local law enforcement saying they had the situation under control.
“It’s wrong to deploy the National Guard and active-duty Marines into an American city over the objections of local law enforcement just to inflame a situation and create a crisis, just as it’s wrong to tear children away from their homes and their mothers and fathers who have spent decades living and working in our communities, raising their families,” he said. “We will not participate in abuses of power. We will not violate court orders. We will not ignore the Constitution. We will not defy the Supreme Court. We will not take away people’s right to peacefully protest. We also respect and expect this administration to respect the traditions and legal precedents that dictate how and when our National Guard and military are deployed,” he said.
None of us were around then, but I am sure that President Eisenhower did not get Governor George Wallace’s permission to send the National Guard To Little Rock.
As she begins her theatrics, Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico, complains about theatrics:

There are no Kings here. You are going to be hearing that a lot over the next week. Using Marines to protect Federal buildings is not outside of the scope of their responsibilities. P.S. Miss Stansbury: this will be a real military parade, no matter what you say. What an awful voice she has when she is hysterical.
