A woman who vanished from her barracks in Virginia last month was reportedly found dead on Monday.
Angelina Resendiz’s family confirmed she was found deceased in a wooded area at the Broad Creek Apartments in Norfolk. Resendiz, 21, a sailor, was last seen on May 29 at her barracks in Miller Hall at Naval Station Norfolk, according to WVEC.
The Naval Criminal Investigative Service said a Navy sailor has been detained in connection with Resendiz’s death. The sailor has not been publicly identified, and Resendiz’s cause of death has not been disclosed.
Charges against the suspect are pending.
