The past week has seen a wave of chaos play out in Los Angeles, with federal law enforcement personnel being pelted with rocks.
However, Attorney General Pam Bondi recently announced that one of those said to be responsible for the violence has been identified.Â
Bondi credits “great police work by the FBI”
According to Fox News, Elpidio Reyna stands accused of hurling projectiles at federal officers during a riot in Paramount, California.
“The FBI has identified him,” Bondi was quoted as saying of Reyna during an interview on Monday with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
“That guy has just been identified, and they are doing a search warrant on his house, as we speak. And he has been identified…his name is [Reyna]. He is going to be on the Most Wanted list,” Bondi explained.
“He has been identified by the great police work by the FBI,” she continued. “So, you can run, you can’t hide. We are coming after you federally.
Those who spit on law enforcement will face five years in prison
Fox News noted how Bondi warned that those who loot business will face up to two decades behind bars while spitting on officers will also bring prison time.
“If you assault a police officer, if you rob a store, if you loot, if you spit on police officers, we’re coming after you,” the attorney general asserted.
“As President Trump said: ‘You spit, we hit,'” Bondi continued. “Get ready. If you spit on a federal law enforcement officer, we are going to charge you with a crime federally. You are looking at up to five years maximum in prison,” she continued.
FBI Director Kash Patel offered a similar message in a statement provided to Fox News, saying, “If you assault a law enforcement officer, you’re going to jail—period.”
“It doesn’t matter where you came from, how you got here, or what cause you claim to represent,” Patel emphasized. “If local jurisdictions won’t stand behind the men and women who wear the badge, the FBI will.”
FBI director: “Hit a cop, you’re going to jail”
The FBI director reiterated that stance in a social media post, writing, “Hit a cop, you’re going to jail… doesn’t matter where you came from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you.”
Hit a cop, you’re going to jail… doesn’t matter where you came from, how you got here, or what movement speaks to you. If the local police force won’t back our men and women on the thin blue line, we @FBI will.

Kash made clear that “[i]f the local police force won’t back our men and women on the thin blue line, we [the FBI] will.”
