
California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters was denied access Sunday to a federal detention facility where the president of the SEIU has reportedly been detained as part of ICE’s illegal migrant-deportation operation this weekend in the Los Angeles area.
“I just came to use my congressional authority,” Waters is heard saying as a door is shut in her face.
Federal agents began deportation efforts early this weekend, but those opposed to the operation stages protests, some including vandalism and violence, resulting in President Trump activating about 2,000 active-duty California National Guard members.
