While the left claims to fight for the little guy, their policies couldn’t be further from that reality. And don’t even think about becoming a small landlord—because thanks to them, only massive, multi-million-dollar corporations can survive.
Oh, and the best part? If you think you have something called “private property rights,” think again. The state can basically use de facto eminent domain to let someone live on your property—someone who doesn’t own it—while you foot the bill.
They call this “tenant rights,” but in reality, it is state-sanctioned stealing.
One Oregon landlord has made the rounds on social media after discussing her struggles with evicting a nightmare tenant, as it’s been nearly impossible for her.
These kinds of loopholes are common in progressive-run areas, where scam artists posing as tenants know exactly how to drag disputes through the court system indefinitely.
Since when was it a thing for the government to take your property and give it to someone else without compensation?
This is what the left means when they claim housing should be a human right, as you can’t do that without taking housing away from rightful owners.
Is there any evidence that these sorts of rules have made housing more affordable for the average American? No? Didn’t think so.
Why does it seem as if there is a deliberate push to keep small, family-run businesses from thriving? These laws give the appearance that they are created to protect the poor, but the ultra-wealthy can easily work around them thanks to their resources, making these rules just another part of business for big corporations.
If the left’s goal was to destroy the mom-and-pop landlord, well, congrats — because that’s exactly what they’re doing. And despite their claims of wanting to make housing affordable again, they’re the sole reason we’re in this mess. And calling this predictable would be an understatement.
