It’s funny how things change in Washington, isn’t it? One minute, some people are singing praises from the highest hill. The next, especially after their team takes a tumble, they suddenly see all sorts of problems they missed before. It’s almost like a script. The election ends, the dust settles, and then come the books. Oh, the tell-all books!
These books often promise juicy secrets and shocking truths. They paint a picture of chaos and backstabbing. And, of course, they usually paint the author as the wise one who saw it all. It makes you wonder if the ink was drying on the book deal while the old office was still being cleared out. Loyalty, it seems, can have an expiration date, especially when there’s a bestseller list to climb.
Well, wouldn’t you know it, another one has popped up, singing a brand-new song. Karine Jean-Pierre, who used to speak for President Joe Biden, has some big news. She’s written a book called Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines. She’s also leaving the Democratic Party to become an independent. Her book apparently blames Democrats for betraying Biden, which she says led to President Trump’s victory last year. Quite the story, after all this time.
Not everyone is buying her sudden change of heart, though. Her old friends and co-workers in the Democratic party are not too pleased. In fact, many are calling her move a simple stunt to sell books.
From ‘Breitbart’:
“Everyone thinks this is a grift.”
That’s a strong word, “grift.” It means they think she’s just trying to trick people to make money. Another former helper for Biden said Jean-Pierre joked about becoming an independent even while working at the White House. “She made a joke about being an independent last year and now it’s a book,” the staffer said. “All ideas are monetary — even the dumb ones.” It seems her colleagues think this “newfound independence” is more about dollars than deep thoughts.
It’s quite a turnaround, isn’t it? Just a short while ago, Ms. Jean-Pierre was the one telling America how great things were under Biden. She stood at that White House podium day after day. She told us the President was “amazing” and everything was “on track.” Now, she’s talking about a “broken White House.”
One very unhappy former official put it plainly in a group text, as Breitbart reported:
“SHE was the public face telling us all that this White House was on track and that Biden was amazing. And now she doesn’t even want to be a Democrat????”
That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? It makes you wonder what else wasn’t quite as it seemed. For someone who was the chief messenger, this sudden flip looks less like an honest change of mind and more like an attempt to rewrite history for profit. Conservatives pointed out problems in the Biden administration all along, and now one of its top defenders is confirming it – but only after she’s got a book to sell.
This whole messy situation also shows something else. It shows how quickly Democrats can turn on each other when things go wrong. Jean-Pierre’s book claims Biden was a victim of “betrayal by the Democratic party.” Yet, other Democrats, like strategist Caitlin Legacki, said Biden stepping aside was the responsible thing to do. Legacki argued that if Biden had stayed, Democrats would have lost even worse. So, who’s telling the truth? It seems the party is too busy pointing fingers to agree.
Jean-Pierre apparently fancies herself some kind of bridge-builder now that she’s an “independent.” But her old colleagues aren’t having it. One said she’s “not in any position to be a connector of our two party system and assuming she could be is just ego.” It sounds like the knives are out, and loyalty is in short supply.
So, when you see a former top Democrat suddenly trashing her old team while waving a new book, remember what it’s really about. It’s rarely about deep, newfound principles. It’s often about the Benjamins and a desperate attempt to stay relevant. This episode tells you all you need to know about the so-called ‘loyalty’ and ‘integrity’ on that side of the aisle. They stick together when they’re winning, but scatter like roaches when the lights come on after a loss.
