Three of the most high-profile unresolved cases in recent American history are being actively reviewed by the FBI, according to Deputy Director Dan Bongino.
In a recent post on social media platform X, Bongino—who previously served as a Secret Service agent and NYPD officer—stated that he and FBI Director Kash Patel have chosen to “either re-open, or push additional resources and investigative attention” into three cases that have long frustrated investigators and the public alike. These include:
-
The 2022 Supreme Court Opinion Leak:
In May 2022, Politico published a leaked draft opinion authored by Justice Samuel Alito, revealing the Court’s intention to overturn Roe v. Wade in what would later become the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision. Chief Justice John Roberts ordered an internal investigation, which concluded eight months later without identifying the source of the leak. -
The 2023 Cocaine Discovery in the White House:
A small bag of cocaine was found in the West Wing of the White House in July 2023. The U.S. Secret Service launched an 11-day investigation but closed the case citing a lack of physical evidence and limited surveillance coverage in the area. No suspect was named. -
The 2021 Pipe Bomb Incident at DNC and RNC Headquarters:
On January 5, 2021—one day before the Capitol riot—pipe bombs were discovered outside both the Democratic and Republican National Committee buildings in Washington, D.C. Although they did not detonate, surveillance footage captured the suspect, whose face was obscured. Despite a $500,000 reward and extensive efforts, no arrest has been made.
Bongino noted that he receives weekly briefings on all three cases and that “progress” is being made. He also issued a public request for information, encouraging anyone with tips related to these investigations to contact the FBI.
Each of these cases generated intense national interest and raised significant questions about security, transparency, and accountability. The decision to revisit them with renewed focus may signal a shift in investigative priorities under new leadership at the bureau.
DailyClout will continue to follow developments on these investigations as they unfold.
