Optimist, Pessimist Or Realist
By Pete Ketcham
Many conservative citizens of this nation are extremely pessimistic about the future existence of the nation as a constitutional republic. Many others in the MAGA community are absolutely optimistic about the prospect of Trump winning the presidency, and are confident he will correct many Democrat policies that are destroying the nation.
One could assume that somewhere in between these two attitudes is the reality of the nation’s future. According to the book of Matthew 12:25 Jesus states the following;
“Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand”.
There is certainly no doubt that this nation is completely “divided against itself” between the God-fearing conservatives (Republican), and the godless liberals (Democrat), and thus according to the scriptures this nation may be heading for “ruin”.
Conclusion
The optimists are counting on a political solution that would put Trump back in the White House to enact policies that would put the nation on the right track. The unfortunate reality is that our nation is controlled by the culture, which will continue to go downhill regardless of what Trump may be able to accomplish. This reality was demonstrated during Trump’s four years as president as the national moral culture continued it’s downward plunge despite his political accomplishments.
And so it would seem that one must be an optimist in order to have the motivation to “carry on the fight”, to bring our nation back to it’s christian constitutional roots, yet it is important that one be a realist in order to plan a correct strategy to win the fight.
