While Pride is officially over, there is one unsettling detail that many have not discussed. TENET Reporter Tayler Hansen conducted interviews with LGBT members and advocates at Pride San Francisco. The main message that he heard was that being nude in front of children was not a big deal.
Throughout his interview, Hansen spoke with many individuals, most being naked men about whether it is appropriate for grown men and women to parade around naked in the presence of children.
“We’re born naked and so it’s okay for children to see people naked,” one man said.
Another man claimed that no one could explain the harm nudity causes to children.
One man, who decided to cover then uncover himself told Hansen that it was okay, as long as there was no “sexuality added to it.”
One man who was present with two others, admitted that he “just likes to be naked.”
“Teach your kids not to stare, it’s rude,” another man in the group told Hansen.
Another naked Pridegoer suggested that parents educate their children about nudity and that as long as they receive the “proper counseling,” they will be fine.
A man who claimed to be “pans” or pansexual, told Hansen that there needs to be a place to embrace nudity, and that place could be San Francisco. When confronted about the realization that children were present, he said that he “felt bad” about it and suggested an 18 and older section in the future.
In all, his message was “be respectful.”
While Hansen interviewed a lot of men, he was able to interview a mother who was with her family. He asked her to share her thoughts on men and women parading around naked in front of children.
“Well, I know it makes my nine-year-old uncomfortable.” She expressed that it did not stop the children from wanting to come back to visit the playground.
The mother’s young daughter approached Hansen to share her disgust. When he asked the young girl how seeing the naked men made her feel, she replied, “grossed out.” Her mother appeared to not be bothered by her daughter’s reaction. Instead, she replied, “They’ll survive.”
One woman, who had her breasts exposed, said that “parents need to teach their kids about the gay community at a young age.”
Things became heated when Taylor decided to confront a nude man who appeared eager to attract children.
“You’re enthusiastically waving at them, trying to get their attention,” Hansen told the unidentified man.
The man became agitated after being told that he was on camera.
Resist The Mainstream reported on the response given by police officers at the event.
“Even with kids, it’s fine to be nudist as long as there’s no masturbation or anything like that?” Hansen asked a female officer, to which she replied, “Yes,” as another female officer nodded in agreement.
Hansen’s interview, which has been shared throughout social media, has many child advocates fuming that this behavior is suitable for children.
“Love is Love” is not an excuse for degenerate public perversion, and if it’s foul for my 28-year-old eyes to see, I can’t imagine a 10-year-old being exposed to it,” Alexandra Lains wrote on X.
