Fani Willis’ case against Donald Trump looks more ridiculous by the day.
Trump said it was a witch hunt from the start.
And now Fani Willis got the worst news ever from a judge.
Fani Willis Unwittingly Becomes the Spotlight of the Georgia Case Against Trump
The Georgia trial of Donald Trump is becoming more about Fani Willis than it is about Donald Trump, and that is bad news for Democrats.
Once the scandal broke about her activities with Nathan Wade, it was clear that the trial wasn’t going to go the way she had expected.
Now she is having to go in front of the court to defend herself against accusations of conflict of interest.
If this court appearance goes badly for her, she may not even be allowed to remain on the case anymore.
Democrats have to be wondering if they picked the wrong person to prosecute the case for them. After all, this would throw their entire plan for the election into chaos, as their strategy depends on putting Donald Trump in jail so he cannot campaign.
And Trump is surely thrilled as Fani Willis self-destructs before his very eyes.
According to Breitbart, “A Georgia appeals court set a date to hear arguments regarding Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’s eligibility to remain on the election interference case against former President Donald Trump.
“In early May, the Georgia appeals court announced it would review a conflict of interest regarding Willis remaining on the case.
“The former president and several of his co-defendants have attempted to remove Willis from the case due to her previous romantic relationship with Nathan Wade, another prosecutor who had been on the case.”
Willis Will Have to Appear Before Appeals Court in October
The fact that her relationship with Wade emerged in the public sphere is embarrassing enough for Willis, as she undoubtedly wanted it to remain private.
But now this relationship is threatening to derail the most high-profile prosecution of her entire career.
The article continues, “A date of October 4, 2024, was set for the Georgia appeals court to hear arguments, according to CBS News.”
“In March, Trump filed a motion to have Willis disqualified from the case. The former president’s filing came days after Fulton County Judge Scott McAfee ruled that Willis could remain on the case if Wade resigned.
“In his ruling, McAfee found that Willis’s and Wade’s former romantic relationship created no ‘actual conflict’ that would result in Willis being removed from the case.”
The ruling is no longer in McAfee’s hands, however, as an appeals court will now decide if Willis can remain on the case. And this appearance before the appeals court will take place in October just before Election Day.
That means instead of talking about Donald Trump, Democrats will be forced to talk about Fani Willis and her embarrassing escapades.
This is hardly the kind of narrative they want leading into a crucial election in which Joe Biden is trailing in the polls. Fani Willis may have royally messed up the entire well-crafted plan that Democrats had to defeat Donald Trump in 2024.
