Nearly 1-In-3 Americans Earning Over $150,000 Worry About Making Ends Meet: Fed Report
- As of April 2024, 32.5 percent of respondents earning over $150,000 annually were worried about making ends meet over the next six months, up from 21.7 percent in April of last year, the June survey showed.
- This percentage is higher than for those in the income groups of $100,000 to $149,999, $70,000 to $99,999, and $40,000 to $69,999. Only individuals who earned less than $40,000, the lowest income group, were more worried than the $150,000-plus group.
- Among the $150,000 group, 15.3 percent took an additional job, the highest among all income levels.

- French voters will go to the polls today for the first round of a national election. Voters will be choosing 577 members of the National Assembly, the lower house of parliament, in two rounds. The first round is today, the second round narrowed to the top vote receivers will be on July 7.
- This snap election was called by President Emmanuel Macron after his ruling Renaissance party was crushed in the June 9th elections for the European Parliament. The opposition party in France, nationalists led mostly by Marine Le Pen, won resounding victories in the EU election.
- President Macron took a gamble to immediately call for a French snap election; the intention was to prove the “far-right” did not have much support. However, that gamble might backfire as polls show the French National Assembly could very easily flip.
- Politico reports the Biden White House is very concerned that Macron might lose his ability to protect the interests of American leftists. The Clinton-Obama-Clinton operation (Charles Rivkin project) has been manipulating French politics for a long time, and the multinational corporations who use France and Germany are a little concerned. USA interests in France, which could very well extend to USA interests in Ukraine, are at stake in this risky gamble by President Macron.

Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally won the first round of legislative elections on Sunday, leaving incumbent president Emmanuel Macron’s centrist alliance lagging in third behind the left, projections by polling groups said.
The projections gave the RN 34.5% of the vote, compared to 28.5-29.1% for the left-wing New Popular Front alliance, and 20.5-21.5% for Macron’s centrist camp.

Putin Calls for Resuming Missile Production Following INF Treaty Exit
- Russian President Vladimir Putin has called for the resumption of production of intermediate-range missiles that were previously banned under the now-defunct treaty with the United States, as reported by the Associated Press.
- The Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty, signed by Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and US President Ronald Reagan in 1988, prohibited land-based nuclear and conventional missiles with a range of 500-5,500 km, marking a significant milestone in arms control.
- The United States withdrew from the treaty in 2019 citing Russian violations. Putin emphasized the need to restart production of these missiles during a meeting of Russia’s National Security Council, citing the importance of ensuring Russia’s security based on current threats.
- Since the treaty’s termination, Putin noted that Russia had refrained from producing such missiles, but pointed out that the United States had continued their production and deployed them in Europe and the Philippines for military exercises.

- The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on June 27 recommended forthcoming COVID-19 vaccines for virtually all Americans.
- “CDC recommends everyone ages 6 months and older receive an updated 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine to protect against the potentially serious outcomes of COVID-19 this fall and winter whether or not they have ever previously been vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine,” the agency said in a statement.

- The next obvious question is this: Does the Constitution allow Obama’s selection as a vice presidential running mate, given ambiguous language in the 12th and 22nd amendments?
- The 12th Amendment states that no one “ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice President of the United States.” The 22nd Amendment — the “not Franklin Delano Roosevelt again” amendment — states that “no person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.”
- The operative word here might be “elected.” If Obama were selected as Clinton’s running mate, and she had to leave office for any reason, then Obama would succeed her. At least one constitutional expert is on record saying there is nothing to prevent such a scenario.
- But why would Obama, who has endorsed Biden, ever entertain such a possibility? I can think of two reasons. One, he would be seen among liberal, Never Trumpers as the one who stepped up to save the nation. Two, there is no heavy lifting involved. Obama could move into the vice presidential residence at the Naval Observatory, considered some of the most beautiful, secure grounds in all of Washington, and do as much or as little work as he wanted. His only real task would be during the campaign, to push Hillary Clinton over the victory line.

Insurgents seek to subvert or displace the government and completely or partially control the resources and population of a given territory. They do so through the use of force (including guerrilla warfare, terrorism and coercion/intimidation), propa- ganda, subversion and political mobilization.
