CV NEWS FEED// Nebraska priest Father Tony Schukei is biking from David City, Nebraska to St. Louis, Missouri in order to raise money and awareness for the unborn as part of the “Biking for Babies” organization.
This is Father Schukei’s second year participating in Biking for Babies, the Southern Nebraska Register reports.
The organization trains missionaries to bike across the country, fundraising for pregnancy resource centers and offering up their sufferings for the unborn and their mothers in need, according to their website.
Father Schukei explained why he decided to participate in Biking for Babies, despite his many responsibilities as an assistant pastor at St. Mary Parish in David City:
“Human life has immense dignity and, unfortunately, our culture is losing sight of this reality. As far as I can gather, there are not many opportunities for me in David City to participate in a proximate way in promoting the dignity of human life. By partnering with Biking for Babies I can do something I love – ride my bike – to promote a culture of life. I ask that you consider financially supporting this mission of assisting the work of pregnancy resource centers.”
Since its founding in 2009, the Biking for Babies has raised over one million dollars for pregnancy resource centers. There are 92 missionaries this year, each of whom ride over 100 miles a day. All of the missionaries are young adults (18-39) but come from all different vocations and walks of life, the organization’s website reports.
Nikki Biese, the Executive Director of Biking for Babies, explained how pregnancy resource centers offer hope for women in times of crisis. “Our team is driven to provide countless more women that hope and to bring about a world where advocating the thriving of all, from conception to natural death, is not only the best option, but the only conceivable option.”
