An illegal immigrant from Turkey was arrested last week in Albany for raping a 15-year-old girl that he forced into his car after making threats to attack her with a metal pole.
Court documents report that Sakir Akkan is accused of attacking the teenager in the state capital early in the morning on May 14, the New York Post reported.
The teen was a passenger in the 21-year-old’s Toyota Prius. He reportedly threatened to beat her if she did not get out of the passenger seat and into the back of the car. Once she cooperated, the court records state that he took the victim’s clothes off and raped her.
The teen sustained defensive scratches on her legs, trying to protect herself.
When she was freed by Akkan after being assaulted, the teen ran to a nearby residence for assistance, The Times Union reported.
The attack occurred near the group home where the teen was living.
The illegal was apprehended by police on June 18, and charged with first-degree rape. Authorities determined that Akkan was living in Troy, N.Y., but was not listed as a U.S. citizen.
He was originally arrested by US Border Patrol agents on Nov. 5, 2023, after illegally crossing the border through San Diego, a source from Homeland Security told the New York Post. Akkan told agents that he was trying to make it to Philidelphia, but could not provide an address.
The source stated that he was released just days after due to a lack of bed space. He was ordered to appear for a court date on Feb. 19, 2025, in Philidelphia.
Authorities in Albany were alerted by an FBI database on Akkan’s immigration status after a hit came up after being fingerprinted, court records indicated.
The illegal is currently being held at the Albany County Jail without bail and was set to appear in court Thursday.
Akkan’s vicious assault on the 15-year-old girl was just one of the recent incidences that have stirred up a conversation about the security of the border.
Two illegal immigrants from Venezuela violently rapped and murdered 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray earlier this month in Texas. Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, and Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, have been accused of assaulting the girl for two hours, before killing her, as reported by Resist The Mainstream.
Akkan is just one of the many Turkish illegals entering the country, particularly through San Diego. The New York Post reported that there has been a significant increase in Turkish illegals entering the U.S.
Beginning in 2021, there were only 1,400 Turkish illegals encountered by border patrol authorities. In 2023, that number reached an astonishing 15,000.
Smugglers have reportedly been helping the illegals cross, often bragging about how easy it is to enter the country, with the help of the Biden administration’s failed immigration and border security policies.
