In His Image Family Festival
On Saturday, June 22, 2024, a number of pastors of our local churches in Boundary County, Idaho put on an awesome event for this community at the Boundary County Fairgrounds in Bonners Ferry from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm. This event was well planned and executed as there was not only recorded music playing, but there were a number of folks that had stepped up as a group to provide a live performance more than once on the stage by the fairground pavilion and they sounded great. Chairs were provided and many of the attendees brought their own chairs as well and were placed in a beautiful setting under the largest shade trees I believe I have ever seen. The weather could not have been nicer than it was. A free lunch was provided of hamburgers, hot dogs, bags of chips, cookies and bottled water and with the attendance of an estimated 900 to 1000 attendees, there was more than one line to get lunch.
Volunteers had arrived early to get the large barbeques going to provide the tasty lunch. There were a number of bounce houses for the children and latrines (portable bathrooms) were nearby.
Pastor Bill Henshaw of the Bridgeway Assembly of God, Pastor Len Pine of the Providence Bible Presbyterian Church and Pastor Henry Yoder of the Boundary County Outreach spoke during this event with profound and meaningful insight and love for the people that attended this Family Festival.
Additional Pastors that participated in putting on this event were Pastor Mike Munoz (Covenant Bible Church), Pastor Brandon Leonard (Limitless Church); Elder Wayne Tesoriero (Limitless Church), Pastors Matt Jolley, Kyle McNeil (Mountain Springs Church), and leader Bobby Reid (Bonners Ferry Fellowship). Pastor Munoz advised me that many people from various churches volunteered and participated in making this event such a success.
The following “Open Letter on Marriage and Sexuality” was provided to me by Pastor Mike Munoz of the Covenant Bible Church for me to share:
“God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary sexes together reflect the image of God. Rejecting one’s biological sex repudiates the Creator’s rightful sovereignty over that person. (Genesis 1:26-27).”
“ ‘Marriage’ is the monogamous covenantal union of one man and one woman for life (Genesis 2:18-25) reflecting Christ’s relationship with His Church (Ephesians 5:21-33). Sexual intimacy is proper only for a man and woman married to each other (1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4)”
“All sexual immorality (including adultery, cohabitation, homosexuality, bisexuality, rejection of one’s biological sex, bestiality, incest, pornography) is an abomination to God and destructive to society. (Genesis 19:4-11 [cf. Jude 7]; Exodus 20:14; Leviticus 18:6-23; Deuteronomy 5:18; Romans 1:24-28; 13:13-14; 1 Corinthians6-9. 18; Galatians 5:16-21; James 4:1-4).”
“Everyone must be shown compassion and respect (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Love for others, however, also includes mercifully “tak[ing] no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expos[ing] them” and correct[ing]… opponents with gentleness,” calling rebels to repentance from sin and faith in the finished, saving work of the Lord Jesus on the Cross (Ephesians 4:29; 5:11; Jude 22-23; 2 Timothy 2:23-26). God promises redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ, “who loved us and gave himself up for us” (Ephesians 5:2; Acts 3:19-21; Romans 10:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-11).”

Pastor Len Pine, Providence Bible Presbyterian Church

Pastor Henry Yoder, Boundary County Outreach

What a showing of support and enthusiasm for this event, which took a lot of work and organization to make it such a wonderful community gathering here in beautiful Boundary County. There is already talk about making this event a yearly blessing.
I was advised that the idea for this event came from a local Boundary County resident, Zack Bushnell.
