A small plane made an emergency landing on New York‘s Fire Island on Monday, June 24.
A single-engine Piper PA-28 made an emergency landing on a beach in Atlantique, a community on Fire Island, a small barrier island off Long Island’s south shore, at around 12:15 p.m.
Both occupants of the aircraft were uninjured, according to Suffolk County police.
The nature of the emergency the aircraft experienced was not immediately clear. The Federal Aviation Administration said it is investigating the incident.
