A former White House physician is calling upon President Joe Biden to take a drug test.Â
U.S. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) made the call, over the weekend, during an appearance on Fox News’Â Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo.
For those unfamiliar with Jackson, he was the White House physician for former Presidents George W. Bush, Barrack Obama, and Donald Trump. In the Trump administration, he was also a medical advisor.
One would think that this makes him more qualified on the subject than your average politician.
“I’m going to be demanding…”
Jackson, during his Fox appearance, said that he is going to be asking for Biden to take a drug test both before and after the upcoming debate.
“I’m going to be demanding on behalf of many millions of concerned Americans right now that [Biden] submit to a drug test before and after this debate, specifically looking for performance-enhancing drugs,” Jackson said.
He explained that he is going to do so “because we have seen recently in [Biden’s] State of the Union address — that there was a Joe Biden that came out that was not similar at all to what we see on a day-to-day basis for the last 3.5 years, And there’s just really no way to explain that, other than he was on something – that they’d given him medications.”
Jackson, however, didn’t stop there. He went on to say that he suspects that part of Biden’s debate preparation probably consists of Biden’s doctors figuring out what doses of performance-enhancing drugs to give Biden to get him performing at his best on debate night.
Jackson said:
I feel like this is probably what’s going on over this week at Camp David. Part of that is probably experimenting with just getting the doses just right, because they have to treat his cognition. They have to give him something to help him think straighter. They have to give him something to wake him up to — for his alertness.
White House responds
Biden has not agreed to take a drug test, at the time of this writing. For that matter, he also continues to refuse to take a cognitive test – the same one that Trump took when he was president.
But, the White House has released a statement responding to Jackson’s Fox interview.
White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said, “It’s telling that Republican officials are unable to stop announcing how intimidated they remain by [the] President’s State of the Union performance.”
The first debate between Trump and Biden is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 9 p.m.
It will be hosted by CNN.
