A basketball tournament set to feature scantily-clad women at a NJ high school has reportedly been scrapped by officials after backlash to an inappropriate promo video.
The ‘Nuttin But Azz’ tournament was scheduled to go ahead at West Side High School in Newark, NJ on July 21, according to an events page.
However, according to NJ.com, the event is not going ahead after an advertisement video emerged of women dancing in thongs on the court.
School board communications director Nancy J. Deering told the site that ‘No school or district official was aware of the video until it was posted on social media.

‘This was supposed to be a community basketball event sponsored by Councilman Kelly. No school or district official approved the activity depicted in the video or knew that an event at one of our schools would include such activity.’
Additionally, West Ward Councilman Dupré ‘Doitall’ Kelly told TAPintoNewark that the video was ‘absolutely horrible’ and not authorized by officials.
‘As a councilman and as a father, I would never allow this type of content to be filmed in any of our schools, and I don’t agree or promote it in any way,’ he said.
TMZ published the video promoting the event, which showed women dancing along to music in extremely revealing outfits.
Tickets were selling for up to $500, and four teams were going to compete for a $10,000 prize.
The proposed event was being organized by music manager Big Fendi, who issued an apology on his Instagram page.
‘We were doing an event and then, you know, things went a little left, and out of control, and I take full responsibility for that, cause you guys had no knowledge of what these girls would be wearing in this celebrity game,’ he said.
‘I want to apologize to the parents, to the students, for affecting anyone, and anybody else that was involved, and my deepest apologies. Hopefully this helps.’
