Sheriff Mike Chitwood of Volusia County Sheriff melted down the badge of disgraced former deputy Stephen Corbin. The symbolic gesture was captured on video and posted on social media, and a class of new Deputy Recruits watched it.
“As promised. I said we would melt down the badge of a former deputy who disgraced our agency (Stephen Corbin). Here it is, with our current class of Deputy Recruits watching,” Chitwood declared in the video.
The dramatic melting of Corbin’s badge follows a series of events that led to his arrest and resignation.
